Privacy Policy

• Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, Google account ID, and profile picture from Google — we do not receive your Google password.
• Content you create. The gear you add to your library, how you organize it, your chat messages, and any manuals, links, or files you submit.
• Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number — we store only your subscription status and a customer reference.
• Usage and technical data. Basic logs and request data needed to operate and secure the service, plus aggregate view counts on public guides.
• Cookies. We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

• To provide and operate KnobSnob, including generating guides and answering questions.
• To create and manage your account and, if applicable, your subscription.
• To keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.
• To respond to you when you contact us.
• To understand usage in aggregate and improve the product.

To run KnobSnob we share limited data with trusted providers who process it on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Google— Google Sign-In, and (via Google’s Gemini models) powering the “Ask about it” chat.
• Anthropic — Claude models, used to generate the plain-English guides.
• Stripe — payment processing for paid subscriptions.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

When you generate a guide or ask a question, the content involved (such as gear names, manual text or links, and your questions) is sent to Anthropic and/or Google to produce the result. These providers process it under their own terms. Please don’t submit confidential or sensitive personal information in chats or uploads.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above, or when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of KnobSnob and its users.

We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing knobsnobapp@gmail.com. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email knobsnobapp@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

KnobSnob is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

KnobSnob is operated from the United States and uses providers that may process and store data in the United States, Canada, and other countries. By using the service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
